Common
Exit Sign
What It Means
A green rectangle with white text and usually a number, marking an upcoming off-ramp from a highway.
How Rare Is It on Road Sign Hunt?
Common. You'll spot these on almost any drive.
Spotting Tip
These appear on essentially every highway stretch, spaced a mile or so before each actual exit ramp — an easy one to check off early in any highway drive.
Fun Fact
In most states, the exit number matches the mile marker where that exit sits — so exit 42 is roughly 42 miles from where the highway entered the state, which makes it easy to estimate distance to your own exit.
